Here are ten super easy things you can do RIGHT NOW to improve your writing:
Current word count: 55,225 (210 pages; +14,843 words from the last update). I have completed chapters 1-16 and am nearing the end of chapter 17. I plan on finishing 17 and 18 this week.
Writer’s Block: I’ve seen some authors criticize the perpetuation of this concept, claiming that it doesn’t exist. Perhaps we haven’t been able to agree on a definition, or perhaps there are people who don’t experience it. Nevertheless, I am going to define it on this blog and explain how I experience it and overcome it.
Now all you writers out there… why do you do what you do? What makes writing so rewarding? Why do we dedicate so many hours to type words onto a screen that hardly anyone will ever read? If writing is so difficult, as we often lament, what drives us to keep going?
The past two weeks have been slow due to Life Events, but I am at a critical point in Gray Haze where the plot is going to start speeding along, which means progress will proceed apace.
