I’ve finished Part 3 out of 6 since the last update. I’ve also outlined the rest of the book (through Part 6/Chapter 150), and I am 15% done with Part 4! Ha!
I was forced to make a silly clock for my fantasy world so I could keep track of time more easily. Here it is:
In case you’re wondering, the time above reads, “the 28th hour,” which is the equivalent to noon on our world. The clock represents a full, 36-hour day. The region in which I am currently keeping track is located far north and in the middle of autumn, so daylight lasts 15 hours, and nighttime lasts 21. The first hour is when the sun sets, and the 21st hour is when the sun rises. Otherwise, the minutes (in parentheses) should be familiar. Simple, right? 😉
Since I’ve outlined through Chapter 150, the plot twists I’ve had in mind since the beginning are clearer in my head, and I’m excited to drop them in my story. I still have 67 chapters left, but it feels like I am much closer than that; I’m writing events I have anticipated since Chapter 1.
The past week has been excruciating due to an unexpected bout of anxiety and depression that left me a hollow heap, and I’m still trying to recover. Otherwise, I might have finished a few chapters already this week, but I’ve only managed to finish one. I doubt I will be able to finish another before Saturday. Because of this, I will likely not meet my NaNoWriMo goal this month. However, I am still on track to finishing Part 4 before my holiday break mid-December. That should be sufficient.
Time’s a’tickin’! The new year is right around the corner. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year. 🙂
How are you doing on your wip? Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? Let me know in the comments!
GRAY HAZE is 186,068 words, or 83 chapters long. That’s 10,106 words, or 5 chapters, longer since the last update.
