July word count: LOL (3,891)
Okay, so this hasn’t been a writing month. July was chaotic because Family and Summer, so I was only able to write one chapter. I didn’t finish any books either, though I started a couple. I’m not sure I’ll finish them. They have yet to cure me of this reading slump.
My younger brother came home from a two-year mission on the 17th, so the week before that was spent preparing for his return. We drove four hours to the airport and flew from Utah to Connecticut the following Monday to stay with my older brother for twelve days (we are going home on August 3rd). My older sister is having a baby on August 2nd (hopefully), so it may take yet another few days for me to fall back into my former routine. I can’t wait.
While in Connecticut, I have updated this website (I don’t know if you’ve noticed), along with my pseudonym (Mitzi C –> Marci Levin). “Marci Levin” is the name I will use for the Secrets of Volenin trilogy. MRC is “Marci” condensed to three letters (and it’s close enough to Mitzi C to minimize confusion), so it will be my brand. 🙂 I will gradually separate my new name from Mitzi C over the next two years, so The Edinön Trilogy will have a separate website, Goodreads/Amazon profile, and Twitter account. I am working on changing the title of my Facebook page from Mitzi C Books to MRC Books.
I changed my email address! My official author email is email@example.com. 🙂
This is all in preparation for the launch of Gray Haze. I hope to have an established audience for it by the publishing date (spring 2021). I want to continue posting on this blog. My newsletter is still a thing — though I haven’t sent one in a couple of weeks — and it would mean a great deal to me if you subscribed!
Liquid Death is permanently free on multiple sites. Visit the “Books” tab on this blog for all the relevant links. The link to Amazon is below. Also, if you subscribe to my newsletter, you’ll be able to read Dawning Life free as well, provided your device is compatible with mobi files. 🙂
July wasn’t the most productive month writing-wise, but it did give me time to sort out my social media profiles and plan a little more for the future. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to build a so-called “fan base” while I am writing this series so the initial launch is more successful. Regardless, I am so excited about Gray Haze. As a writer, this is a very good sign that I’m headed in the right direction.
How was your month? Did you accomplish any of your goals? Do you need a vacation from your vacation as much as I do? Let’s chat in the comments!
